Like any other trekking option, the Everest Base Camp trek follows the same seasons, which are Spring and Autumn. Spring starts in March and ends in May. This season has a moderate climate and clear skies. There is less chance of rainfall and snowfall, which makes things easier on this trek. These months offer moderate weather conditions, making the trek more enjoyable and manageable for trekkers.
It may amaze you, but there is NO age limit for this trek. However, that doesn’t mean you should not be in good physical and mental health. If you are a regular trekker, it should not be difficult for you to complete this trek. It is better if you consult your doctor before going on this trek. On average, it might take you an 11 to 14 days round trip trek to Everest Base Camp. The majority of the trekkers do it in 12 days. If you want to decrease the trekking days, you can hire a helicopter. It might add extra expense to this journey, but also adds more excitement.

Kathmandu to Lukla

If you don’t like the trek with the crowd then winter season is best for you. This off-season, the temperature goes really low and there is a chance of high snowfall.

There are western-style toilets available in the newly built tea houses. But, most of the tea houses have old Indian style toilets. It is better to carry your toilet paper and accessories. They also provide you with a hot shower till you reach Gorak Shep.
Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderately difficult trekking destination. You have to cover the round distance of 130 km in Everest Base Camp Trek. The trails are not as plain as you think, rather they are ascents and descents. You have to cover at least 15km on a trekking day. If you are an experienced trekker which has already completed high altitude/mountain treks then you can do it easily.
Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the high-altitude treks which takes you to the altitude of above 5000m. Hence, there is always a fear of altitude sickness throughout the trek. People who are not used to high altitudes can have a serious problem here if not acclimated properly. There are several things you can do to avoid altitude sickness like proper acclimatization, be hydrated, walk slowly etc. If these precautions, not taken seriously, altitude sickness can hit you any time.
In case of emergencies, our team members will rescue you from accidents or incidents. If an emergency is solved locally with the help of guides and locals, it is okay. If not, you will get emergency helicopter rescue to avoid the consequences of emergency situations.
